EBSCO / Science Fair help

Lots of kids in Hazel Crest and Country Club Hills are working on Science Fair right now. We know this because you come in the library, looking for books about electrolytes in sports drinks or sweet potatoes and acid rain.

The bad news is, 99 times out of 100, there are no books written about these subjects.

The good news is, there are magazine and journal articles written about *almost* everything!

The bad news is, even the marvelous Grande Prairie Public Library cannot carry all of the magazines and journals you might want to check out for Science Fair (or just for fun).

The good news is, we have an awesome electronic resource you can use to read the magazine and journal articles on-line!

EBSCO Host is a place where you can search magazine databases (EBSCO), an encylopedia (Searchasaurus), even look for suggestions for fiction books you might like (NoveList), all from the comfort of your own home, through the internet!

To access all this awesomeness, just go to a computer with internet access and go to the EBSCO sign-in page. There, it will ask you for a "Patron ID." In that box, type in the number of your Grande Prairie Public Library card and click on "Login."

Now you're in! Click on "Search databases here" to find magazine and journal articles! Click on "Searchasaurus" to explore an Encyclopedia of Animals or a General Encyclopedia! Click around and learn how to use all the wonderful resources available to you through the Grande Prairie Public Library.

And if you ever need help or have a question about any of this, remember to ASK A LIBRARIAN!
